Touch me, it's so easy to leave me Tante Z's WhatsApp picture is her standing barefoot in the sand with her back to the sea, clutching a (way too fancy for the beach) purse and grinning under giant sunglasses It makes me so happy I just adore her Maru is up North, overseeing chalet renovations We made up He should've known better but it's okie he's going through a lot And so am I I start classes tomorrow! Wish me luck! I cleaned and organized everything in my flat And I'm eating healthy It feels strange I feel like I'm in a hotel There's nowhere for me to hide I did twenty run throughs with my lesson plans It's overkill I know but I feel rusty and nervous I have Polish students, I dated a Polish guy once I was really young Jan, pronounced Yan -- he was kind of a zealot A Muslim zealot! A tiny, blond Muslim zealot in a really shady part of the city Nobody knew what to make of him He hated when I wore heels So I always wore heels He had a secret boyfriend who later overdosed On HEROIN And apparently a secret daughter? I got bizarre updates after a decade from mutual friends Jan was weird I'm weird for dating Jan I hope he's okay though I miss his cat Kocham cie I know how to say I love you in Polish and it doesn't sound pretty I'm so glad that I don't feel like I'm doing anything evil Life is very quiet and slow again, at first it was relieving Then it was a bit maddening Now I'm alright (as alright as I can be) There's a whole gang of garden cats! I half expect one of them to start singing Memory Some of them are wooing Laila (her tiny face looks so annoyed, it's so funny) So many! It all started with the grey fluffy Zakareya (Zachariah but with an Egyptian accent) He used to nap in front of the gate when I'd get home at ungodly hours from the customer service job, he really cheered me up Then the cutest fluffy orange cat I have ever seen in my life Then a thug kitty who is white with orange patches Then a fluffy black kitty Then an enormous pregnant kitty who is also white with orange patches Plus two kittens, one black and one white Street cats are usually short haired here so it's very strange to see so many fluffies I feel like people are dumping them in our garden We feed them and we're down the street from two nice vets I think we have a reputation I'll buy a big bag of dry food when I get paid |
