Eid massacre I'm not going to put links to the articles in this entry. The pictures break my heart. First- I want to tell you about a message from a young man in Gaza. The day before Eid--he said a lot of people told him that they're not going to celebrate this holiday because they were too sad about what's happening in Gaza and Syria. He said-- I want you to know that despite the bombings here in Gaza, we're buying our new Eid clothes and food. It's symbolic for us. We know that the one thing they can't break is our spirit. And I'm 100% sure they're doing the same in Syria. We are a strong people. So do me a favor, this Eid, buy new clothes and cook and be happy. --- Today I woke up to find news that a playground in a UN refugee camp was bombed during Eid. Ten children were killed. Of course they're blaming Hamas (despite eye witness reports of a drone-- Hamas has rockets--Israel has expensive aerial drones) I wish people would remember that this sophisticated weaponry is paid for by taxes There are new names to add to the initiative I wrote about in my last post At home, the one I don't have to worry about leaving in ten minutes before it's bombed, Eid was happy |
