fear and love
what's frightening to someone who's used to being frightening is meeting someone who isn't frightened sometimes feeling what you've made others feel makes you button your lips together but more often, there's a moat there's a fortress pretending to be an island more often, they say--my feelings are mine alone more often, sympathy is empathy-substitute and it goes unnoticed because the coffee tastes sweet and we aren't that particular it's just semantics it's just what i think just nothing to be afraid of |
