my fellow human bean
i'll be damned if we start to romanticize who we are or condemn the bubbling toxic waste that made us. we don't want to be different for the sake of a legacy. i just happen to be fluorescent, you just happen to be neon, and that's how we can see in the dark. there's no struggle in swallowing that burger, or buying that pair of shoes or spitting your gum out the car window--and you're as well aware of that as i there's no fanfare and no flag that we theoretically live by, there's no nice summation of how and why, the word should is not a part of our diction and waiting is our competitive sport i like the way you hope. it's not in a way that criticizes what is or what's been, and not in a way that makes arrogant predictions-- it's this unreserved conviction that things are so much better than we can imagine them to be, it's this humility that you aren't even aware of--and it pushes you so hard, you are so determined to live past your head and dear bean, you strengthen my desire to live past mine |
