Boycott, divestment and sanctions I think people are tired of thoughts and prayers I think they're starting to link their spending to corporate entities and lobbies and politicians-- And their lack of healthcare And shit schools And children being mowed down in schools And if they grow up, the poor ones especially, are financially pressured to join the army They send these poor young people to intervene somewhere rich in some natural resource Somewhere with brown people Somewhere they won't speak English so their screams won't be as impactful And they can be painted as terrorists They can say on the news that this is for democracy Ignore the UN, ignore international law We're warring for peace The racists and the fascists who deep down value white lives over everybody else have exposed themselves Their fake liberal cooing from a position of charity, from a position in which they can center themselves as savior is no longer available to them Can't argue about being the good guy when white supremacy, colonialism and the people you voted for are currently incinerating kids And there's a clear line in the data as far as age groups as well It makes me hopeful for the future Young people are compassionate, media literate and organized Tiktok and other social media are an invaluable news source in a time of intense propaganda The same way that cameras in Vietnam were an awakening --- Personally, I'm very very very privileged And there are horrors across the border I'm really tired |
